How we met
So it was Christmas day, our Lord Jesus Christ's birthday! and my flatmate
had egged me on the previous week to attend a Christmas party organised by the
International students Hostel (ISH). Our university like all the other
universities in London that were participating organized taxis to pick us to the
venue. All dressed up in purple with my purple clutch I hurried off excitedly
with my flatmate and met up with the other UEL students. During the taxi ride we
went chitty chatty about all kinds of things.
The party begun on a calm note with everyone not knowing what to expect they
begun to wonder out loud if it was worth attending. And me? well, I couldn't
help but notice this one guy who was bubbly and happy from the start. He smiled
and greeted everyone in such an exciting and infectious manner my mood and hopes
for the day were alite with hope. Now don't forget it was Christmasday, and
since there's a big child in every man or woman we still treasure that day and
with sparkly eyes hope for something awesome! And indeed something awesome begun
for me since then.....
The party included a nice big dinner, a message from the queen, a walk to the
Prince Regent park and a movie marathon. Being one who loves the sunny side of
things and cheer. I wasn't too far away from Mr. Cheerful. We walked and talked
but it was all in the spirit of friendship and of course Christmas!
The days passed by rather quickly as each day was greeted with one dinner or
another, shopping trips and slowly our personal hangouts. By which time we knew
there was a new 'developement'. Not sure where this would lead to as we came
from many lands apart; (Me Ghana and Sascha Germany) we decided spending too
much time together wasn't such a good idea.
Then came the big split...mhuh..we had the big conversation and decided to go
separate ways before we even started moving in the same direction.
And how long did that last? yes you are right... not even a day! LOL.
So since we realised we more than liked each other and couldn't stay apart
for even a day but thought (at the time) our future plans and ideals were
irreconcilable we hatched up a new plan. The new plan was, to go out for six
months and then go our separate ways.Six months because that's when the
University calender ended for both of us.
But guess what happened?! After barely three months we realised we didn't
want to live without each other....we were in love!.... so a new plan begun to
emerge and here we are. About to celebrate our love in Holy matrimony!
